Building up a cotton sky, clouds are drifting high and wide
They look like castles drawn within a child's mind
Raise my hand to touch them, but then I realized
That I had only seen them from one side

Then drop their snow to cover all

Turn the sky to sudden night
Reached out to stop them, only then I realized
This is the vision from another's eyes

We only see what we are shown, and know what we are told
We miss the truth that sits beneath the fold
We hear the parts we wanna hear
Ignore that doesn't shine or sing
But that's just half of everything

We fall in love with what we see
Not always who someone might be
We paint a face we long to find
Then break when it's not right
I held on tight, and now I realize
