The orchid on the windowsill
Is drowning in the Sun
The starling sings a warbled song
The way it's always done

My feet are on the hardwood
My hands are in the sink
My head is swallowed by the sky
If not for gravity

I'd float away
So high
You'd never see me cry
I'd turn right in to dust
A star that almost was
