New creation

They told me to believe in a God I cannot see
You need to give your life, but what’s in it for me?
They listed off all my sins and my depravity
I want to live my own way, why repent and obey?

But is this nihilistic view truly the answer?
How can I go on rejecting my Creator?
Why do I not feel fulfilled by my self-made purpose?
Why do I feel like this life isn’t worth it?

Worldly distractions and instant gratification
This is all so bleak if there is nothing beyond creation
Just taking a look at my reflection now can I see my sin-rotten core
Abba! Father! I can’t handle this turmoil anymore!

God are you out there?

The Lord and Saviour Christ
Who made me a new creation
Appointed me to life!

I'm such a wretched one, treacherous scum for the things I've done
God should have left me for dead but instead, He sent us His Son
Forget the walking dead, my soul was dead, falling to eternal death
Anything I touched would melt, felt I was already in hell, a burning mess
Too scared to lay myself to rest, so I walked with a blade lest anyone test
In the hope my opponent would take a knife or bullet and put it right into my chest
Then I got struck with a double-edged blade that came right down from heaven
The Spirit living in the Word now lives in me, He pushed out all the venom
This can't be purchased, I don't deserve this, I was at the front of the rebellion
Through Christ I'm a new creation, now I just wanna reach all nations telling them

I was the weakest but now I'm powerful in Jesus, He's what it's all about
So we shine His light on any demon fiend to reveal them then start calling them out
They’re shuddering under His thunder governing, we're living in the book of Revelation
No fear for us, we’re covered by the blood
New creation generation!

You pulled my corpse from out the bottom of the sea
You dragged me up to shore and breathed life so I could believe
Even though I hated You with all of my being
You changed my heart so I could love You, why choose me?
I’m not worthy of Your love
Yet You gave me everything!

I was blind to believe, God gave me eyes to see
I will lay down my life, just as He did for me
He forgave all my sins and cured my depravity
He put His Spirit in me to cause me to obey

That nihilistic view was not the answer!
For I was called into the arms of my Creator!
Now I see that my life has a purpose
To the praise of the glory of His grace was I chosen!
